■ The 3rd China Changchun International Automobile Fair

The city of Chang chun Jilin province is proud to host the 3rd China Changchun International Automobile Fair. This event will be held from July 15 to July 22, 2003. This fair is approved by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and hosted by China Council for Promotion of International Trade, China Machinery Industrial Union, China Commercial Federation, China Automobile Industrial Association, China Automobile Industrial Corporation, the People's Government of Jilin Province and the People's Government of Changchun City.

Changchun has established an enviable reputation as "the City of Automobile", "the Movie City", "the city of Science and Technology", and "Forest City". Changchun is the cradle of the automobile industry in China.

July 15, 2003 is anniversary of the day that China modern automobile industry has developed for 50 years. So the government will hold international automobile peak tribune in Changchun , at the same time there are also some celebration activities and the 3rd China Changchun international automobile fair. At that time state related to departments will invite the national leaders, government officers, the presidents of famous automobile works in the world, automobile experts and press medium inside and outside.

■ The 5th China Changchun International Agricultural & Food Fair

With the support of the State Ministry of Agriculture and the Jilin Province Government, the 5th Agriculture Fair in 2004 will take "green and sci-tech" as its theme. It will give further prominence to its international features, to large and medium-sized leading enterprises in the agricultural sector, and to renowned and excellent green products. Famous brand names from domestic and international markets, and renowned and excellent agricultural products that adapt to international markets will be the main streams; non-public hazard, green and organic agricultural products will be bright spots of the fair; large and medium sized agricultural leading enterprises, and purchasers will constitute the main bodies of the fair. There will be 1500 exhibition booths in this fair. We plan to invite large and medium-sized agricultural and foodstuffs enterprises and related enterprises, 200 from abroad and 1000 from within China, to the fair to conduct exhibitions, exchanges and trade activities. There will be 10 activities such as exhibitions of agriculture and foodstuffs and their processing machines, animal/plant contests, agriculture forums, etc. Its industrial orientation and commercial orientation will be more obvious.

■ The 7th Changchun China International Sculpture Symposium

With the approval of the State Culture Ministry, the 7th Changchun China International Sculpture Symposium has been held from July 25th to September 5th in Changchun World Sculpture Park.

The Symposium with the theme of “Friend, Peace and Spring” mainly invites foreign countries which never participated in the previous symposia before and invites national well-know sculptors to deliver their sculptures to Changchun.

There are 18 countries invited to the symposium. Sculptors from India and Canada are also invited to the symposium. Therefore, there are 21 sculptors from 20 countries coming to Changchun making their selected sculptures.

The Organizing Committee of the symposium would like to extend sincere thanks to hard-working national and international sculptors.

■ The 7th China Changchun Film Festival

Changchun China Film Festival,which is approved by the State Council P.R.China and acknowledged by the International Producer Association is a film competition with Internationalism.
