High Technology Development Zone
Changchun
High Technology Development Zone is situated at the southern
part of the city. It covers a total area of 49 km2. Within
the zone, one can find 18 full-time universities and colleges,
39 state and provincial-level scientific research institutions,
11 key national laboratories, 28 commissioners (from the State
Department of Science and Technology) and academicians (from
the China Science Academy and China Engineering Academy).
With a well-established infrastructure as well as preferential
policies in place, the development zone provides an excellent
investment environment for foreign investors.
In view of the ideal investment environment, many well-known
multi-national companies have set up their operations here.
Examples of some companies are FORD from USA, Itochu Co. and
Marubeni Co. from Japan, Siemens from Germany and the Goldlion
Group from Malaysia. Most of the 247 foreign capital joint
ventures have made considerable profit margins.
At present, the Changchun High Technology Development Zone
is endeavoring to further develop its five main industries
in bio-engineering, automobile engineering, new material fabrication,
photo-electricity and information technology.

Economic& Technological Development Zone
The Changchun Economic & Technological Development Zone
(CETDZ) was established in April 1993 under the approval of
the State Council of China. It enjoys all the preferential
policies stipulated for economic and technology development
zones of coastal open cities.
With a well-established infrastructure as well as preferential
policies in place, the CETDZ provides an excellent investment
environment for foreign investors.
Many well-known multi-national corporations have already set
up their operations within the CETDZ.

specializing in automobile spare parts manufacturing, electronics,
photo-electricity, food processing, bio-pharmaceuticals and
construction materials.

Jingyue Pond Tourist And Economic Development Zone
The
Changchun Jingyue Pond Tourist and Economic Development Zone
is a provincial-leveled project approved by the Jilin Provincial
Government. Within the zone, there are key national tourist
spots including the national forest park and a holiday resort.
The Jingyue Pond is one of the first few tourist spots to
be accorded with an AAAA rating by the nation. It covers a
water area of 4.3 kms as well as the largest man-made forest
in Asia, spanning an area totaling 80 kms. With natural resources
such as land, forest and minerals in rich abundance, the Jingyue
Pond provides an excellent potential for future developmental
projects. The Jingyue Pond is truly a "bright pearl"
in the northern part of China.
The various industries within the development zone are also
taking shape. One can find a ski resort, an outdoor beach
bathhouse, a four-star hotel and other tourist-related products
and services in place within the national forest park. A number
of high technology firms specializing in the fields of blood
albumin, bio-pharmacy, telecommunications, electronics and
other high value-added operations can also be found within
the development zone. Also Chinese yew and aloe vera farming
and processing represent the main focus within the agricultural
sector.

AutoMotive Economic Trade And Evelopment Zone
Founded
in 1993, the Changchun Automotive Trade Center was re-established
as the Changchun Automotive Economic Trade And Development
Zone in 1996 with the approval of the Jilin Provincial Government.
Within the development zone, there is an exhibition center
and five specially demarcated industrial centers. The famous
Changchun Automobile Wholesale Center, which began its operations
in 1994, is co-established and managed by the China Ministry
of Domestic Trade and the Changchun Municipal Government.
It is the largest auto-vehicle and spare parts wholesale center
in China and is streamlined for inclusion into the national
product market development plan.
The other three remaining centers include a resale center
for used auto-vehicles, a specialized center for industrial/commercial
vehicles of other makes and a tyre wholesale center

Road Development Zone For Computer & Technological Merchandises
Changjiang
Road Development Zone for Computer & Technological Merchandises
( referred to as Changjiang Road Kaifaqu hereinafter ) was
established on April 28, 1998.
Changjiang Road Development Zone takes the exchange of PC
computer, office automation and telecommunication products
as base, relying on the research and development of software,
network engineering and information products.
On September 3, 2001, Jilin Provincial Government officially
certified Changjiang Road Development Zone as a provincial
level development zone.
